For the first time in my life, I made fresh squeezed orange juice with my own hands...well, with the help of a machine. I started feeling gross a week or so ago and decided I needed some natural vitamin c in me. So I got myself a big fat bag of oranges and started squeezing. We have an orange squeezer so I thought it was about time I learned how to use it. These handy machines seem essential in Spanish households. Go to any bar and you'll see an electric orange squeezer (ours is not that fancy). I've never been a fan of orange juice (neither fresh nor that Tropicana stuff...so gross!), but I've come to really enjoy them here in Madrid. Someone once told me Spain is one of the biggest producers of oranges...or something like that...don't take my word for it. But they're really good! It kinda sucks that it takes like four oranges to make a whole glass, but it's totally worth it.
So I'm really proud to say I've finally juiced an orange...a good one too! As for my sickness, I think the oranges helped. Now if I can only get rid of this cough!
P.S. Ma, please don't worry about me. I'm okay...it's just the change-in-the-weather kind of cold that everyone else has. I'll survive, I promise.
