Last Monday, I was supposed to have a four-hour class with one of my company executive students. I arrived at his house and found out he wasn’t home. I knew it was going to be a good day. I was getting paid for four hours without actually working. So I went home and hung out with the fam. We went to the Reina Sofia (for free thanks to Juan and his mom!) and checked out Picasso's work. I finally saw the Guernica and it was massive!
After the museum we decided to go back to Sol to eat lunch before I go to my next class. As we emerged out of the Metro, I noticed that there were a ton of people gathering around the Plaza. In the middle was an elevated platform and on it were people with professional cameras and video cameras. On the balcony of the government office was a big congratulation sign for Real Madrid and their La Liga championship. I got excited.
I made everyone wait and stand around. I was so sure that the team would be there. They had to be. There was a big coach bus! Sure enough they were there…all wearing suits. It was awesome! Totally made my day ten times better.
Elaine went picture crazy! That completed her Spain experience. She may not have seen a match but at least she saw the team…in suits!
