That was one of the headlines in a Spanish newspaper today ("Looking for man who shot 5 women in a store"), referring to the Tinley Park shooting. I always find it strange to see a news story from home in a foreign country. It was first strange to see constant coverage of the Presidential Primaries, but I was actually starting to get used to seeing Barack and Hillary's voices dubbed in Spanish. However it's even more strange when the news report is tragic and causes people to raise questions about America and its culture.
The past few weeks, I've had people asking me about our election process. Today, I've had to convince my students that not all Americans have guns. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had to do some explaining. I've been asked in different countries if I have a gun. It's always interesting to hear from people of other countries their perspective on America. Thankfully, despite some of the bad influences we've had, for the most part people still like us.
