I thought I'd take the time to tell you all about my wonderful students. I have about thirteen students ranging from 21 years old to 50 something years old. They all have different employment backgrounds but all are currently unemployed. Most of them would like to be administrative assistants or do customer service, hence why English would be a bonus. But I also have a lawyer and an economist. Interesting side note about the lawyer: a couple weeks ago she drove me back to Madrid (in her Benz) because she was having lunch with her friends. She went on to tell me that she lives in a really nice suburb of Madrid and David Beckham used to be her neighbor when he played for Real Madrid. She said he's very nice ("He buys his own bread") and Posh is not so nice. I really wish he was still playing here so I could stalk him.
Anyway, my class definitely consists of various personalities. As in every class, I have a few know-it-alls that think they are amazing in English and there are some who get easily frustrated. But for the most part, my students are very nice. Today, they were all concerned and asked me questions about the Lane Bryant shooting in Tinley Park. They wanted to make sure I didn't know any of the victims. When I found out I needed to find a new job in March, some of my students offered me ideas of where I can get a new one. One even offered for me to give him and his wife private lessons. The same student also told me to give him my CV (resume) so he can give it to his wife, who works for a pharmaceutical company, in case I decide to stop teaching. A few have offered to take me to interesting places in Madrid. My 21 year old student has offered to put me on the list at Kapital so I can avoid paying the ridiculous admission fee. She also invited me to her house to celebrate Semana Santa. I might just do that seeing I will not be doing anything that week.
My students and I have gotten to know each other very well. Everyday, we take one long break where we go to a cafe/bar and get coffee with either a tortilla española, tostada con tomate, or tostada de Bimbo con marmalad, depending on which bar we go to. It's great! This is my favorite part of the day - probably because it involves food!
I have learned a lot about Spain (its people, culture, politics, food, and the Spanish language) from my students. I like them all a lot and will definitely miss them when the course ends at the end of February - Why do I get so easily attached??!!

you get easily attached because you're passionate! cold hearted psychopaths don't get attached. lol. awww but it seems like your students are getting more attached to you.
